WOW!  That was beyond easy!  My head is still intact albeit with these tiny red thingys.    I must be still hopped up on pain pills because I feel okay for having had surgery today.  The count was 3100 grafts in the end.  What a smooth ride.  I got to tell you,  they make it easy for you there.  Oh, and OMG showed up and offered to take over Cooley’s job of doing my hair (which I had to decline, LOL).

First thing i did when got back to the hotel was take a picture in the bathroom.  Then, thanks to a special delivery from OMG himself,  I was greeted by the 2 post-laser transplant devices in the bedroom.  Not to mention a Cigar.  I used both the recipient device and donor device for 20 minutes a peice.  Going to use them both again before bed and will smoke that cigar.  I go to see Dr. Cooley tommorrow morning for 1 last check and its back home for me.

Thanks for all your help OMG!  You are the man!  I owe ya one!

P.S.  Also very cool,  was that I got to talk to Dr.  Cooley who is actively involved in and really cares about advancing the science and finding a cure for MPB.

Geez man sounds awesome!!!  Keep it up with the LLLT treatments…don’t slack now.  Was the cost under $10K for all that?  Just personally curious. smile

Nid,

It was about 11.5 (10% discount) paying cash(or you could get 5% discount w/ cashier’s check).

Oh,  I have absolutely no plans of stopping LLLT ever.

I started to feel a little pain roll thru about half an hour ago and so I went back under the recipient site healer.  Awesomely easy to use while your watchin tv.  After that 2nd session, less pain.  I also popped some fish oil(inflammation), bromelaine(swelling)  and holy basil for(cox-2 inhibitor).

Feelin fine!    I think I might go for a 3rd time under the device before bed if I feel it warrants(OMG, if your around ......chime in if I shouldn’t).

Kickass DM5!!

Btw, ImmortalHair’s regimen is loaded with COX-2 inhibitors as well, like Curcumin and Ecklonia Cava (if you’re also taking those).

DM5, remember, your primary goal is WOUND HEALING here instead of using LLLT for hair growth.  Four 20-minute sessions a day is NOT unreasonable for this purpose.

Thanks. man!

4 LLLT sessions in the same spot right?

Like 4 on my recipient site and then 4 on my donor site?

That’s what I am going with.

Just wanted to be careful again about bio-inhibition(I keep forgetting the times and consequences).

No idea bro. smile  Talk to OMG about that one…I was thinking 4 on the same spot though, based on studies that have used LLLT for wound healing (usually an hour or more of LLLT exposure per day).

This is beyond awesome!  After having used the lasers in healing mode(3x20 after transplant and second day; then 2x20 today)  and taking some of the IH supplements as well as bromelaine and pomegranate, fish oil, holy basil,  I looked in the mirror this morning and was ready to drop the hat.    In fact, I decided to go see some family and friends back home for a couple of days.

When I first saw people back home tonight, they had no clue anything was done.  The redness is gone!  You cannot tell anything was done.  There is just stubble up under the usual hair.    I am going to post pictures soon because I want to compare between mine and OMG’s results and see if we tied or maybe the supplementation in addition to increased times might have tipped the scales in my favor.  This is sweet!

I’d imagine that you probably WON!  Like I said, I kicked myself after I realized that “wound healing” was so drastically different -and my head was even telling me at the time that I could have taken A LOT more energy!

Glad I could bring you the device, too!  I haven’t emailed Cooley yet -I had a bit of a setback today because I’m in excruciating pain because of a pinched nerve in my neck, and yesterday was actually a pretty romantic day with the Laser Babe that resulted in cooking huge steaks, drinking champagne, and eating a variety of cheeses.  I’ll email him and return to the real world tomorrow!

I’m glad you’re a part of this forum, too!  It’s great to have someone with your perspectives on the hair loss world, and what it takes to solve the problem of hair loss as best as you can in 2010!

I know that romantic pinched nerve thing, LOL.  Had it myself a couple times in the past! smile  Just kidding.

Thanks a bunch!  Glad to be here!  This forum and its mission is something I strongly beleive in; not to mention the good HONEST people who frequent and run it.

BTW:  I wil be putting those pictures up in a couple days(maybe tommorrow if I get a chance).  Been hanging out with friends and family lately, eating, drinking and being merry.

And I am profoundly thrilled at how undetectable this thing is.  I have mentioned it to people because I just don’t care and they can’t find it.  In a big way I am happy I did this and want to tell people!

The next bonus would be to have those follicles not go dormant and proliferate nice and quick like yours!  Fingers crossed.

I have mentioned it to people because I just don’t care and they can’t find it.  In a big way I am happy I did this and want to tell people!

SEE?!  I told you!

How many times have I been on record over the past couple of years saying that people that get a hair transplant have such a psychological shift that they end up BOASTING about it and outright telling others about it when they don’t even have to -and the person that just got the transplant would ordinarily have been extremely apprehensive doing something like that beforehand!

It is really THAT PROFOUND of a mental change!  Yeah, it’s pretty easy to see that your whole personality is going to get a slight change for the better because of this.  I’m also on record saying that there is nothing more powerful than a guy that was forced to develop his personality and self confidence in other ways because of hair loss -and then FIXES THE PROBLEM.  You really are a finely honed weapon at that point!

Thank you, thank you… once again, I’ve been shown that I have my finger on the pulse of the average hair loss sufferer! lol…

You were definitely right about that.  Another cool thing is that its easier to comb(not like I usually did).  I don’t know how to explain it but the hair on top of the tranplanted fuzz is playing real nice with the new guys.

It is a mental change because its like I have the beginnings of hairline now instead of the destruction that was there before.    I was extremely apprehensive about hair transplantation because of that and possible negative stigma(but its my natural hair, right?).  Not to mention it felt like I was giving up the fight or throwing in the towel and admitting defeat.  But I realize that I just engaged a better weapon in the struggle.  Because the struggle is not over.

Once you see the after effects what a skilled guy like Dr. Cooley can do, you want to bragg.  Like I said I am going to shut it before I jinx all this and get a bad outcome.  I will try and post pics.  I am away from home, so have to work with what I am given.  I think I will be heading back home tommorrow and possibly going back to work a day early.  So those pics are comin.

Guys,

Those pictures are still coming.  Got back to work and got busy.  Also had some problems uploading a couple of them.  I was gonna try and do an animation like OMG did but keep getting distracted.    Still coming, I promise!

After I received my transplant I started sleeping with two girls at the same time, which is not cool, but I felt like I had to play “catch up” from being depressed and isolated for so long. It blew up in my face and I learned my lesson, it definitely changes you psychologically lol. So don’t become a temporary asshole like I did!

Halfempty-

That’s funny….....I learned that lesson a long time ago.  It is 1 at a time only for me.  Just got out of a serious relationship not too long ago and going to be cautious.  But I do foresee something happening real soon with a girl I have been talking to…..

OMG-

Got some free time and playing with the image upload feature to upload some photos and wonder if something is not allowing certain jpeg files?

There is a site update that just came available so maybe that will fix it.  I don’t have any control over it… it’s the software in the thumbnail maker or something!

Not many people in the world are using this software.  Why??  Because you have to be a madman and design the whole site from scratch like I did to use it!  There are still a few issues that need to be fixed that I don’t think they even know about yet -they are waiting for people like me to tell them that they are issues!

Well, I have my computers back, and I have a lot of email to catch up on and about five helmets that just have GOT to be finished pronto, and as soon as that’s done, it’s back to focusing on the site!

Here are my pictures from the day of the transplant to day 5.  I was done with the redness pretty quick and its probably because of the increased 3x20 a day laser sessions with OMG’s transplant device.

I went in on Thursday and dropped the hat on Saturday and was out with people.  I think the sessions especially that night after the surgery were the ones that really stuck it to the redness and swelling.  Plus, I diid not get any face puff or anything.  Conclusion:  Lasers=  Hyper Fast Healing.

You Guys Rule!

I am already on the Transplant bandwagon. At this point, it is just a matter of when. I think the last thing I am curious of is really just how low you can cut your hair with .... well with a Cooley Transplant since i know not everyone does that kind of work. Between Cooley tricophytic, laser and Acell assisting, I feel like the scar will be the least of my worries. Can you guys go down to a 2 or 3 guard? I know it also depends on your hair type to begin with AND I know when I have my hair back I’ll be growing that bad boy out BUT it is important to plan long-term.

@OMG: Money is a bit tight right now, but as soon as it picks up, I would like to order a Laser Messiah (prebuilt)... Hurry up and accept credit card payments hehe (=.

Thank you guys!

OMG-

Thx!

Folliculator-

What’s up?  I have my sides pretty close and you can’t tell.  The Acell really hooked it up(Cooley said that it will not EXIST within the year;meaning no scar).  I used lasers on this to begin with but started shedding and after surgery had some spots that didn’t want to worsen.  Not to mention I have an alien shaped head and the standard laser helmet mold is made for humans(talking to OMG about a custom here soon)(If you don’t get Acell on your scar get OMG to make you a Laser-Donor Device and that will take care of it).  But you can’t detect the scar and I got it at about a 2.5 guard around sides back.    I have the frame at the hairline that starting growing after transplant.  Just waiting for the majority of the little guys to pop.    I was going to go back to Cooley in September, but decided to give it more time for them to sprout so he can find the clones.  Thinkin on going back for checkup in Nov or Dec.

Advice:

Go with Dr. Cooley.  Not only is he very consistent, the guy cares deeply about advancing this science.  When I called Dr. Cole’s office initially, I spoke to some asshole who totally slammed Cooley and his work.  Not only did that turn me off, but I found looking thru posts that Cole had given some poor results mixed with the good.  I never found ONE bad Cooley review online.  Really research that one for yourself.  Cause you need to be confident.  Cooley’s best transplant pics are on the hairtransplant network site. http://www.hairtransplantnetwork.com/share-info/gallery-by-doctor-ver2.asp?DrID=4  He has a bunch more pictures there and you can see his style.  I like the hairline that;s rolling in—and it’s awesome that I won’t have to worry about a scar and can keep it short sides and back.  Just waiting for the rest of the band to get here.

@DM5,

Wow thank you for the response! Thats crazy about Dr. Cole’s receptionist. I didn’t experience that when I asked if they new Dr. Cooley, but I will say my contact at Dr. Cooley’s thus far is amazing.. scratch that… incredible. She is just super caring, honest, informative. She spent about 2 hours talking to me, informing me, helping become equipped for this procedure no matter what I decided. She even referred me to someone locally to go check out…. And I did but I preferred Cooley’s demeanor and her.

The laser-Donor Device sounds awesomeness. So your hair is a 2.5 guard around the sides? Thats super short. That’s amazing. Would you be down to share some pics of the scar area? You’re about 7 months in yeah? So the newbies should be poppin out in the next two months? Oh and what did you mean by clones?

thank you again for the responses DM5 and OMG. I think i wanna change my name on here to a three letter thang now haa.

Folliculator-

Sorry for the wait.  Just got my camera back.  Here are 2.  See if that helps.  There is not much too see as it is pretty much healed and just waiting for full hair coverage.  When I get my Canon fixed I may be able to get closer.  But I guarantee you won’t see much of anything but skin.

BTW:  We know that using OMG’s post-transplant LLLT device, and more frequent times, my healing was faster initially.  Then I sent him back the helmet.  I didn’t think much at the time, but his device gave more SOD stim and all around what I got with my first helmet.  I just posted a thread called Laser Helmet Maintenance.  I did not have my power turned up on my 460 diode helmet.  Therein may lie a discrepancy in how a great many of my grafts went dormant and OMG didn’t.  In fact, I am convinced that is the reason.

After turning up the power on my helmet, I am noticing the same feeling under OMG’s Post-Transplant LLLT device.  I’m kicking myself now.  The thing that fooled me was that it would sometimes have more power than others.  I actually challked this up to Laser Blood Irradiation treatment effects(how things reach a peak and such).  Also thought maybe I was claying too much or had a dry scalp or some other factor was throwing in a kink in terms of getting proper stimulation.

Anyway, lasers on warp now, so things should get interesting.

DM5—

Didn’t have the power turned up?  Referring to the amperage adjuster?

@DM5 Thank you for those pics. Thats incredible! How short is your hair in those pics? Was that fully wet as well? You’ve only been healing for 4.5 months!! Looks to me like you could go down to a 2 or 3 guard no problem. How is your frontal area?

Also, I didn’t even realize there was an amperage adjuster on you guys’ laser helmets haa, but COOL! Thank you again for the pics. If you happen to cut your hair really short and wanna take a pic for me FEEL FREE! haa. I really appreciate the support here!

Folliculator,

These pictures were with my hair unstyled(especially the new guys) and flicked up so you can kinda see the new stuff and then the empty.  My hair is short as it was before the transplant.  I have kept it prebalding short for years to hedge the recession.    I am going to say 2.5 or 3.  I don’t know the guard size so can’t tell you for sure.  But you can see skin sometimes after a buzz.  I kinda have it layered since the transplant from the back and around the sides so that there is thicker hair above that drapes over the semi bare areas or scar—-skin material.  Trust me I know why you want to know how short.    I don’t know if the Bosley guys can wear it this short.    But if you get Acell, your chances of having no scar are going to be multiplied.  Plus if you use OMG’s Post Tranplant scar healer you’ll come out that much faster and undetectable like he did.

In regards to my hair,  I think it will look great with some density in there when everything matures.  Of course now that I have my helmet on full blast,  I might have to incur a shed.  But…........I will come out stronger for it.

@DM5,

ummm…. holy crap thats only at 4.5 months!?? Thats amazing. All research I have seen says you have continued growth up to two years and most doesn’t fill in until 8 months. That’s pretty rad sir!

Thank you for posting pics!

Hopefully you can see that my hair is short from the side photos above.  It’s just been kept kinda long on top for better coverage.

Also…..the tranplant day was April 15th.  So it’s been about 6.5 months now.  And usually most transplants are grown in by 1 year.  That’s why they make you wait a year before you can get new grafts.  Not to mention the hair-greed involved…..yeah right.

Anyway,  pretty happy here, just kicking myself about my intermittent helmet treatment(due to not turning a knob), cause I think I could be doing insanely better.
