We may all have horror stories on problems that arise with our Laser Messiahs.  I truly hope that you have not.  Either way, don’t make my mistake.
My “the most important hair ‘maintain’enance device ever created” Laser Messiah II is priceless.  It worked just fine for the two weeks after I got it before I made a major FU.
A quick by-the-way:  I have a 300 diode helmet.  By most good fortune (for me), a good man named Todd, in a bit of financial duress, sold me his LMII.  Todd had acquired the LMII kit from OMG and then Todd did an excellent job of putting it together, he being but a common layman, not an electrician.  It looks “store bought,” if I may add.
But, two weeks into my using my LMII I found out electricity is not my friend, if given a chance.  My recliner has (HAD) heat & massage.  With helmet on head, a book to read, 15 minutes in front of me, I placed the AC/DC Converter upon my recliner’s right armrest.  A very soft pop, light blue smoke rose from the AC wire connections and, voila, gone one heat & massage control unit, one LMII AC/DC Converter.  A spark shot between the power supply in the AC/DC converter and the chair’s H&M control unit, leaving a burn hole in the armrest top as the charge shot through the TOP of the case on the AC/DC Converter’s power supply.  [Note in the 3rd pic: no burn hole or charring can be seen.]  Darn.  Well, anyway, Maddy, my wife, has me on track with a fellow member here named Dan, I believe, and I will be getting a new power supply soon.
Maddy plans on making an insulated container for my new power supply, wood casement with rubber matting; she makes assemblage art; it’s right up her alley.  I’ll post a pic of it, power supply in case, when it’s made.
Here’s the trauma.  “The Horror.  The Horror.  etc.
Ciao,  Dennis “theOZer” Osborne

WOW!  lol….  Jeez, too bad you didn’t get that on video!

I agree… these power supplies should probably have some sort of a rubber casing, though.  We’ll have to look into that!

That’s crazy, though… I wouldn’t have guessed that could happen.  I just leave mine on the floor -and I’ve probably stepped on it at least once or twice a day for the past year, but I haven’t put it next to any other electrical devices before except for my computer adapter.

Maybe we should start a “rule” that these power supplies don’t go anywhere but the floor, and away from other electrical devices!

I’m curious about one thing, though… does your power supply say “S-50-3” on the side?  If so, every single power supply problem that I’ve ever had came from those.  They’ve upgraded them now, and they are “S-100-3.3” (if I remember correctly), they come from another factory, and I haven’t had any problems with them.  I’d be interested to know if this was one of those power supplies.

They got so bad it was almost comical… with one shipment of about 30 that I had, almost every single one blew up as soon as I plugged it in (but the ones that I tried to video tape of course didn’t).  Although the other S-50-3’s did eventually have similar problems, AiXiZ didn’t know there was a big problem with them until that one shipment.  After that, thank goodness, AiXiZ got them from another source.

Of course, my S-50-3 works -and I treat it like sh*t, too!  lol…  Oh well, I guess I have the laser mojo or something!

Did you get another one?  I have about 16 hours of email to catch up on tomorrow, so if I have an email from you… I’ll get to it then!

Hey Dennis!  Great to see you on-board, and boy is that one funny story…lol.  Rubber casings are definitely something that we need to get ASAP!  I should be getting those power supplies in on Tuesday, so we should have you back on-board the laser bandwagon soon enough. wink

Well, flippin’ Hello OMG!  Hello Dan,
I am honored; enough, already.  Yes, it is a S-50-3.  Maddy, my wife, has had good communications with you and Dan, I believe, about your LM, this problem, this really dumb move on my behalf.  We will get one of those S-100-3.3s for sure.
For what it’s worth, I ‘Bosleyed’ at Scottsdale under the blade of THE Dr. John Hamilton.  Dr. Hamilton has been with Bosley since it’s creation and speaks of Dr. L. Lee Bosley’s as Lee.  Well, anyway, right before my HRT (Oct202009), speaking with Dr.John and a fellow Dr., in residence, there in the room, I mentioned your Laser Messiah.  Dr.John knew not of it but the fellow Dr. knew who OMG was and he had a 150 diode unit.  Dr.John has been a proponent for laser treatment and wanted me to get the comb for it’s true benefit but quickly was taken aback (it seemed) that he did not know of your magic, your LM.  I mean it was a good thing; he saw what he heared as something worthy of note.  It was a choice moment, looking back at it.  A very well educated, experienced in HRT doctor learned of you, your LM, learned it from me, too.  It was a kind of neat ‘shake-and-bake-and-I-helped’ kinda feeling I’ll never forget.

...but the fellow Dr. knew who OMG was…

Is it wrong that this sort of stuff makes me feel good??  LMAO!

See… I’m not kidding, though!

Check out the picture I just took a second ago.  That’s my most recent stray cat, Black Bart, that we took in, and he’s using my power supply as a FREAKING PILLOW!  lol…  You just can’t make this stuff up sometimes!

Of course, it’s not plugged in, but you get my drift…  I treat my power supply like hell and for some reason I have good luck with it.

...And yes, it’s 8:30am and I’m still in my pajamas and wearing my Uggs slippers so I need to jump in the shower.

Oh My God, OMG, you’ve killed that poor little cat.  Taken out early in live; one sharp, crisp spark, then back to the void.  Must be another one of those S-50-3s run amok; can’t trust them around children, either, I hear.
I got to admit I had no idea of the dangers, I guess for lack of a better word, in using the power supply in a home environment.  Granted, I acquired my Laser Messiah through a previous owner and didn’t get and/or read any “How to and How not to” instructions, which, don’t get me wrong I’m not bitching about here, just throwing it in as comment.  Still, my life long interaction with electricity and it’s need to seek the easiest highest ground (no pun intended) once again reared it’s ugly head here.
We’re up to 4 cats, ourselves; recently adopted Dot, a sight-impaired female Scottish fold.  The cats definitely come around when I have the LMII fired up and wonder, “Why is Daddy’s head all aglow, and… I hope it’s not contagious.”

It may interest you to know that cats are really good at detecting electromagnetic waves, and tend to settle in those spots where they are emanating.  I read an article from Dr. Mercola a few months ago where he was talking about how it’s important to not have your cell phone in the same room as you sleep, likewise, no wireless as well as it will mess up our circadian rhythm.  He actually suggested that if you have a cat, observe where the cat settles on a frequent basis in the room.  If he/she consistently settles in one area, then chances are there’s some sort of wireless/EMF energy emanating from around there!

Speaking of EMF and wireless fields, did I ever tell you what the deal is with my house?  I have one of the best wireless routers on the planet -you should be able to pick up the signal at the road 500 yards away- but I have a difficult time going through even just one wall in the house.  If I have to go through two walls, the signal is totally blocked.  When I’m sitting at that glass desk in the corner of that room with all the windows (in my announcement picture), I’m even in LINE OF SITE of the router, and it’s “flakey”.

Turns out that the past owners put fresh primer and paint on the walls a couple of times… OVER LEAD PAINT.  If you didn’t know, lead paint really blocks wifi -and they actually have similar (non-lead based) paints available that PURPOSELY block out wifi signals!  I guess the idea is that you can put a coat on all the outside walls of the house and it’ll keep people from hijacking the signal.

So, the new primer and paint is, of course, protecting us from lead paint… but it’s still a big barrier for the wifi!  So, when I’m at that glass desk, there is a little bit of a wall that extends out near the line of site of the router -and that’s enough to make it cruddy.

So… you always learn something new!

What’s interesting is that the primer protects you from the lead, and the lead protects you from the EMF waves.  You’re actually healthier not having those waves travel through those walls, and through your body! smile

New Power Supply in wood case

I have a new power supply.  Thank you, Nidhogge, for working with Maddy, my wife, to get this new power supply.  Actually, it’s been about a month since I had this new power supply in my grubby little hands.  I’m a bit tardy in getting this post out.
Maddy, who puts together assemblage art pieces, took a small, cedar hope chest/jewelry box that she got at a Goodwill (thrift) store, lined the inside bottom with a rubber mat, drilled the 2 holes, and, voila, my very own custom made TN-100-3.3 power supply in wood case.

Regards,  Dennis “theOZer” Osborne

P.S.  Note the new/replacement lounge chair in the background.

I can’t get the 48KB image size of the power supply in the wood case to post along with this.  Oh well.

So, here’s the image linked. powersupplyinwoodcase.jpg
