i remember sometime ago there was a lot of talk about something nick named pixie dust. the big thing about it was the story about the guy whose thumb (part of it) grew back using this substance.

if i remember correctly (& i cant be sure that i do) this company was working on something for hairloss, mabe it was follica? but i cant remember. anyhow from what i recall there was alot of hope put into it but then it just died.

heres the site with their research.

http://www.acell.com/

and now the cool part…i hope any way..they are offering this stuff (or at least i believe it is the same stuff) as a free promo for dogs ($400 value) with severe arthritis. i am fairly sure the mechanism which produces the results are the same as it was for the thumb.

i wont be going for it because i have a 14 1/2 dog and if he needs it for his hips i dont want to use this 1 per person promo up. it states that they provide the product and your vet injects it into your dogs hips, so i’m not really sure if they actually send you the product or if they ship it to your vet. BUT if this is the right stuff that many were hoping to get their hands on for hairloss heres a perfect opportunity

thought it was worth mentioning…

For the lazy folks, here is the pdf on the finger wound: http://www.acell.com/files/Acute_Finger_Amputation.pdf

I’ve told a few vets about this because they had a wound on a cat that healed amazingly: http://www.acellvet.com/vetcases/lucille.php

The last time I heard something about this for hair loss was maybe in the late spring.  I think the same typical problem was occuring that always occurs with sites that are only forums and without people that are proactive and will pick up the phone to find the truth:  some people were saying that initial tests with Acell (maybe on transplant scars??) were a failure, and some people were saying that it was absolutely successful.  lol…  Only in a hair loss forum!

So, who knows!  All I know is that Follica keeps getting delayed to the point where I wonder if something is WRONG -like it’s not working like they thought or something.  I don’t know anything about that, though.  All I know is that the Follica guys only would speak to people with CLOUT, so maybe in the coming months we’ll be able to score an interview with them -if they are still around then.

There is a number on the Acell website you can call and go thru the process of ordering some of the same stuff.  I checked today and it is something like $670 for a 30gm pack of 5.    Maybe this and a dermaroller for some possible healing and regrowth on balding areas?  Don’t know.    Definitely something worth exploring.  The theory is that where you apply the powder it causes stem (progenitor) cells to gather and exert their regenerative/healing effect.  This maybe an easier way than the Histogen stuff.

Honestly, Id pay good money for just one 30g bottle of the powder. I have a few non hair loss things Id chomping at the bit to try it on, and the Matristem sheets are tiny as hell at like $100 a pop. Im not sure Id go through with spending so much for so much powder, and I have no idea how to properly use the powder (Maybe Dr. Cooley can shed some light on this), but I would definitely spend money on this stuff.

as i have a father who’s leg didnt grow properly and had to have it amputated when he was 16!!! thats right, and still got a degree and had a family, amazing i know.
hes very inspiring.

anyhow im hugely interested in this field of medicine or watever its called.

i am positive there will come a time where we can just sprinkle on the correct type of cloned cells, and grow back body parts.

why would it not be possible.  salermanders can grow back there own legs. many animals can grow back body parts.  our legs grew from a single cell when we were an embryo, there must be a way to make it grow again.  just need the right combination of cells, and messages to tell them what to do.

it will happen, im going to try to get into this field when i become a medical researcher. 1.5 yrs till i get my degree.
