I’m actually going to make a little personal device for myself with five really high-powered lasers for things like this.  The older I get, the more uses I seem to have for it…

OMG…that’s a good idea…does deep tissue LLLT repair things like herniated discs????

Scotty…thanks for the recommendation.  I just ordered Cissus by Primaforce, and I’m going to take that on a loading phase (4 times the normal daily amount) with MSM 1000 (4 a day), magnesium and potassium aspartate with Taurine, and weekly vitamin b-12 injections directly into the damaged area.  I’m doing that along with cortizone injections, spinal decompression therapy, physical therapy, and a gallon of water a day.  Hopefully all of that will mean a quicker recovery

GaAs is effective in chronic low back pain.

Two abstracts from Lasers Surg Med. 1998; Suppl. 10, p. 6
1) Prof. Soriano in Rosario, Argentina, performed a double blind trial with elderly people suffering from chronic low back pain. After a through medical examination the patients were divided into two groups. One received GaAs 4J per point and one received sham irradiation. Ten consecutive sessions were done, one every day. Pain was evaluated through a VAS scale at the beginning and at the end of the treatment period.

Treatment was effective in 71% in the laser group and 36% in the sham gruop. The pain disappeared completely in 45% in the laser group and 15% in the sham group. During the follow up 35% of the patients in the laser group who had relieved their pain more than 60% relapsed, compared to 70% in the control group. There were no side effects.

2) Effects of low energy laser therapy on herniated lumbar discs. Gruszka M et al. Gruszka (Buenos Aires)  treated 15 patients with one or more protruded lumbar disc herniations with GaAs 904 nm, with a dose of 9J on each point, 20 to 25 points on the lumbar spine and on referred radicular pain points, 3 to 5 times a week during 4 months.

Pain was relieved in 100%, gait and neurological signs improved in all patients, EMGs improved and CAT scans showed less protrusion of the herniated discs.

Also, the THOR laser device that I was talking about that uses five 200 watt, 650nm diodes is used to treat it, too -and it’s a more mainstream device (it’s the one that looks like a shower head).  I guess the point is, though, that it doesn’t really matter whether you use 904nm or 650nm… they just have to have enough power to penetrate deeply.  I’m under the personal opinion that getting RED lasers to penetrate deeper is more beneficial than using INFARED lasers (like the 904nm -they are invisible to the human eye).  The red is more “bio available” according to several sources.

Now, actually, you should be ANGRY after reading those abstracts.  lol… They were done in 1998 -12 freaking years ago.  ...And it obviously shows results from SIMPLE LASER LIGHT without any side effects, yet it’s still not widespread and/or embraced by the medical establishment.  In fact, most are IGNORANT completely about LLLT for these purposes.

Doctors are SUPPOSED to be interested in curing us of ailments.  Therefore, they should *all* know about this.
