50/50 Polysorbate/Ethanol ....Isopropyl Alcohol as Replacement (for Ethanol)?

August 30, 2010, 06:40 PM Its hard to find ethanol here in Canada. I know people have been using vodka in zix formulas, but I’m not sure for prelaser. I would like try the exact mixture that OMG is using since we already know it works for him. But in case I can’t find ethanol (90 or 95%...can’t remember conc. right now)....Has anyone tried rubbing alcohol (isopropyl alcohol) as an ethanol substitute or would that not achieve the desired effect for the pre-laser topical? |

[ # 2 ] August 30, 2010, 09:25 PM Exactly peachfuzz. We have no way of knowing anything about Isopropyl alcohol. That said I’ve had plenty of Canadians that have located ethyl alcohol in pharmacies. Sometimes the labels look so identicle to the isopropyl that you assume they don’t have it even though it’s sitting right aside of the Isopropyl alcohol. Call a couple of local pharmaicies and ask them if they have it on hand. If you still can’t find it we can come up with a formula using vodka for you. It still will work out to be pretty cheap. |
