I know this a probably a thing of the past but, wanted to know if retinoic acid or any type of retin-a product would be beneficial for the hair and scalp. In fact as being an effective type of chemical peel. I’ve read that it also helps thicken the hair by penetrating cell turn over within the hair follicles and increasing them in size. Is this true or does anyone know of an effective way to help thicken existing hair?

LLLT and MSM orally help thicken existing hair.  I never heard anything great about retin-a and hair.  The only good thing I heard about it was using it in conjunction with minox, which I do not and would not use.

Now that I think about it, I did use retin-a for acne in college.  I don’t remember there being any effect on my whiskers.  Definitely no noticeable thickening of my beard as I recall.
