February 14, 2010, 11:18 AM Hi guys, I’m female, and I have had good results from OMG’s helmet. Only about seven and one half months so far but definitely doing well. In addition, I have researched hair loss issues online. I am not quite the normal subscriber, being a) female and b) a cancer survivor whose main problem has been numerous chemotherapies which have wreaked havoc with my naturally occuring estrogens, and are hell on your scalp. Prior to OMG’s helmet I was depending on various essential oils which I had researched online, notably the combination researched in Edinburgh of rosemary, thyme, cedar wood, and lavender. However the more I learned, the more I decided I needed to add a plant based estrogenic oil. I have decided to use Evening Primrose oil as a base. After reading about Magnesium oil, I added that as well. Generally I use a mixture of all of these for at least an hour on my scalp three times a week, prior to shampooing and lasering. Opinions? Thoughts? I know many of you are extremely knowlegeable and I am always interested in learning more. Please note: I HATE minoxidil (it gives me severe heart palpitations and other allergic reactions. It IS a heart med. How it got approved I do not know) and cannot take many of the internals recommended for men. Thanks in advance. |

[ # 1 ] February 14, 2010, 10:47 PM Hey Gregsmom— You may want to consider Pueraria Mirifica to get your estrogens balanced once more. You can read up on what it does at the following link: http://www.PuerariaMirifica.com I like what you are doing with your oils, very good idea and a solid regimen. Have you looked into my article on how to create your own Herbal Hair Loss Shampoo as well? You may find that beneficial and even a bit fun…I personally find a good deal of satisfaction in Do-It-Yourself projects once they’re completed, and this way, you know exactly what you’re putting into/on your body. And, no worries…you won’t find us actively endorsing Minoxidil or any other drug. |

[ # 2 ] February 15, 2010, 07:56 AM Thanks, Nidhogge! Am totally on it. Remembering hearing about that herb and wanting to learn more. Just doublechecking. Mixing the oils mix with the magnesium oil isn’t going to hurt the magnesium, is it? I want them both to work. And once again, I do feel that the lasering is the main reason I am getting good results. thanks again

[ # 3 ] February 19, 2010, 11:06 PM Hey Gregsmom, Nope, it won’t hurt the Magnesium, however, I doubt it will stay in solution. Meaning, if you were to get a clear glass, pour the oils in and pour some Magnesium Oil, it’d be suspended above the oils (or below it, depending on density). Perhaps if you mix it really well before use it’d be uniform though, however, I’d personally recommend applying the Magnesium Oil first as it dries relatively quick then maybe 20-30 minutes later, applying the other oil combination. Glad to hear that about the lasering as well! 8) |
