Hey guys!

Its been a little while since I have been on here, but wanted to update you guys!

So I was trying all natural treatments to try and find ones that worked before moving on to the stronger stuff.  But NOTHING worked.  I was skeptical for a while about trying prescriptions to inhibit DHT.  But I decided to take the plunge and started Avodart 0.5mg daily

I’m almost a month in and i can gladly say that by week 2 i was already seeing a HUGE decrease in shedding so I am very happy thus far.  Almost no hairs fall out when I am combing, or applying topicals.

I have been closely monitoring side effects.  Thus far, the only thing I have been experiencing is a small decrease in Libido which Im cool with as long as it works.
No E.D.
No stomach aches.
No brain fog

Ive also been doing Minoxidel 5%: rotating between a Minox+Azelaic Acid 5% and Minox+Retonic Acid 1% every night

I wanted to see if any of you guys have tried Avodart and I would like to hear some success stories because I think it definitely works! smile

I’m not a fan of reducing DHT levels in the blood. Your body needs DHT. Glad to see that you are rotating your topicals though. If there’s a decrease in libido, I think that’s not a good sign. Any side effects that start out small seem to amplify as your metabolic pathways become continually re-routed or well… blocked by the drug your are taking. However, if you are set on reducing DHT internally, I think you’re best bet might be epilobium. At least it’s natural, not a highly synthesized enantiomer of some chemical with side effects. Check it out here:

Also, maybe you should add or switch to a topical that has DHT reducing properties. Like something with Saw Palmetto. According to the Zix Creator - you can use his formula for “Hair Muck” and mix in minoxidil or maybe the formula for super zix II. Check out his site.

The retinol formula is definitely good to keep the scalp exfoliated, but be sure you don’t get too much sun, because sun damage isn’t good for the scalp.

Any way - if you have the internal treated, external treated, and maybe then add in some LLLT, you should be in the best shape possible for some results. Best of luck!

Thanks Tanner,

I appreciate the input but to tell you the truth, Im kind of done trying things that “might” work based on speculation and I’m sticking to things that really do work.  After talking to numerous doctors (including Dr. Bernstein and Dr. Kingsley in NYC) and hair loss specialists, Im sticking with the proven FDA approved treatments. As of now the only thing the Docs’ say that they’ve work on almost all people are either Minox, Propecia/Avodart, Laser Hair Therapy, and a host of vitamins (in conjunction with the others, sometimes)

I’m a college student and like I said, No Erectile Dysfuntion at all so as long as I’m keeping the ladies happy and I can keep my full head of hair, Im way cool with a small libido decrease haha. Im having my Doctor monitor it for me as well.

Once again I really appreciate it man and def adding LLLT soon smile
