March 05, 2010, 10:18 PM Hi, I have a question, I’m sure this has been brought up before.. Has anyone here brought their laser helmet on a plane before? If so, how did you do it, carry on? Checked baggage(boxed it)? FYI, it’s a full-on 300 laser diode device with OMG power supply, it can fit it all into a 12X12X12 box. Even if you have an opinion on this please, I’d love to hear it. The flight is this Sunday and I don’t know what to do, it needs to get from San Diego to Seattle, don’t know whether to take it with me on the plane or ship it. Personally I would prefer to bring it on the plane. Thanks so much guys, look forward to hearing from you. Cheers, Nick |

[ # 1 ] March 05, 2010, 10:27 PM It should be fine to pack with your luggage that gets checked. Just be sure it is near the zipper so that they won’t have to dig all though your bag if they decide to checked it out. Also be sure you use TSA approved locks on your luggage or be prepared to have them cut off. You should be fine. I have carried lots of medical type equipment without too much of incidence. T |

[ # 2 ] March 06, 2010, 02:05 AM I second Tonyb, but just want to stress that it shouldn’t be your carry-on luggage, but rather, your checked luggage. You’ll confuse the homeland security people and risk confiscation if it’s in your carry-on luggage. |
